Devo De Dev... Mahadev- Know More About Lord Shiva

Lord Shiva.... What do you see when you see him? A body covered with ashes, matted hair, wearing necklace made of beads of rudraksha and garland of snake, the sacred Ganges on his head, Trident (Trishula) and drum in his right hand, with a stoic face, tiger skin as his apparel and meditating eyes. This is what represents Mahadev and forms his identity. Every thing that he wears stands for some important aspect of human life. In the coming posts I shall discuss this in detail.

Lord Shiva is the is the most supreme, auspicious and adored God. Lord Shiva represents the aspect of the Supreme Being (Brahman of the Upanishads), which incessantly melts to recreate in the cyclic process of creation, preservation, dissolution and recreation of the universe. Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva form the Hindu Trinity.

Lord Shiva is also known for his endurance owing to the poison that he holds in his neck. This poison was the result of samudra manthan. His stoic face reflects his endurance power. He is the Lord of mercy who blesses and looks after his devotees. No matter how much every I write it is less to describe this Supreme Lord. Chant Om Namah Shivay till I come up with my next interesting post.
